Sydney web design
Best web designers in Sydney.
Eight Sydney web design agencies, compared on what they actually publish about themselves: where they are, what they build on, what they charge, and how long they take. No affiliate links, no paid placements, no invented rankings.
A disclosure, up front
MindSite publishes this page, and MindSite is on the list. We have put that at the top rather than buried it at the bottom. Everything stated about every other agency comes from that agency's own public website, quoted or paraphrased, with a link so you can check it yourself. Where an agency publishes no figure, we say so instead of estimating one.
All details verified against each agency's published website on 25 August 2026. Agencies change their pricing, teams and claims, so treat the figures as a starting point and confirm anything that matters before you sign.
Method
How this list was put together.
Most "best of" lists are ranked by whoever paid, or by nothing at all. Here is exactly what we did, so you can judge whether the list is worth anything.
1
Listed alphabetically, not ranked
There is no honest way to rank agencies you have not hired. Ordering is alphabetical, which puts MindSite in the middle rather than the top. Further down there is a "best for" section where we do make picks, and say why.
2
Only facts each agency publishes itself
Every location, price, timeframe and platform below was read off that agency's own website. Nothing is inferred. Where a figure is not published, the entry says "none published" — which is useful information in itself, because it tells you the conversation will start with a quote rather than a number.
3
Sydney-based, verifiable
To be listed as a Sydney agency, the agency has to say it is in Sydney somewhere we could find. One well-known name failed that test and we have explained why at the end rather than quietly dropping it.
4
Superlatives are quoted, not repeated
Several agencies describe themselves as award-winning, top 1%, or Australia's highest rated. Those are their words and appear here in quote marks, attributed. We do not restate anyone's marketing as though it were an established fact — including our own.
The agencies
Eight Sydney agencies, as they describe themselves.
Alphabetical order. Every field below is drawn from the agency's own published pages.
Creative Baguette
Sydney head office — no street address published
A small studio working with Australian small businesses, and one of the few agencies at this end of the market that publishes real prices on its own website rather than asking you to enquire first. Their about page describes the studio as run by Manon Vernay, so you are dealing with an individual rather than an account manager.

Magicdust
Mona Vale, Sydney — also Brisbane and Melbourne
A high-volume operation running since 2006 with offices in three states, building on WordPress and WooCommerce. They bundle logo design, copywriting, hosting and marketing alongside the build, and advertise an unusually broad guarantee covering unlimited designs, pages, hosting and support.
Established
2006
Platform
WordPress; WooCommerce for online stores
Published pricing
"Quality Websites from $1490 - $6990", published on a secondary page rather than the main web design page
Timeframe
No committed timeframe; 4-8 weeks appears as a suggested standard
Notable
Their published counts of websites built and clients served differ between their homepage, about page and services page, so we have not repeated a single figure here
Best suited to
A business wanting design, copy, logo and hosting handled in one package at a fixed price
Our own entry
MindSite
Nirimba, Quakers Hill NSW 2763 — Western Sydney
That is us, and we publish this page, so read this entry with that in mind. We are a small Western Sydney studio building WordPress sites with Elementor and Breakdance, with a bias toward sectors where getting found and being usable matter more than looking fashionable — NDIS and disability providers, allied health, trades and professional services. We do not use lock-in contracts.
Established
Over 10 years
Platform
WordPress, built with Elementor and Breakdance
Published pricing
None published — we scope first, then give one fixed price. By the standard applied to everyone else on this list, that counts against us.
Timeframe
Four to eight weeks for a typical build, depending on pages, integrations and how fast content is approved
Sectors named
NDIS and disability providers, medical and allied health, trades, professional services
Notable
Rated 5.0 from 100+ Google reviews. No lock-in contracts — 30 days' notice and the site is yours.
Best suited to
Providers and service businesses in Western Sydney who want the same person after launch as before it
Pixel Fish
Suite 5, 8/92a Mona Vale Rd, Warriewood NSW 2102 — Northern Beaches
A WordPress specialist running since 2011, working specifically in Elementor and Divi rather than custom themes. They publish a defined four-week process and three named packages, and are one of the clearer agencies on this list about how the project will actually run week by week.
Established
2011
Platform
WordPress; Elementor and Divi; WooCommerce
Published pricing
None published — three packages are named (LaunchPad, GrowthPlus, Professional) with no figures against them
Timeframe
"Website live in 30 days" across a four-stage process: plan and content, design and build, revise and approve, launch and training
Notable
Their published count of websites delivered differs between the homepage and the about page, so we have not quoted a figure
Best suited to
A small business that wants a fixed four-week timeline and page-builder WordPress it can edit afterwards
Small Business Web Designs
Sydney and NSW, Australia wide — no street address published
The most transparently priced agency on this list and the cheapest by a distance, with a published line-item price list covering pages, logos, SSL and even a paid expedite option. They describe themselves as "Australia's highest rated web designer" and offer a money-back guarantee with no contracts.
Established

Spark Interact

A business that wants a CBD agency with an indicative price published before the first meeting
Stone Digital
50 Miller St, North Sydney NSW 2060
The most expensive agency on this list and openly positioned that way, founded in 2017 and focused on custom WordPress rather than page builders. They state a team of nine and 200+ projects completed, and describe their people as "only senior WordPress professionals".
Established
2017
Platform
Custom WordPress, WooCommerce, Shopify

Timeframe
Packages page says "4 to 12 weeks"; the homepage says "between 1.5 to 4 months"
Notable
States nine team members and 200+ projects completed; describes its work quality as "in the industry's top 1%"
Best suited to
An established business with a five-figure budget wanting custom-built WordPress rather than a page-builder site
The picks
Best for what.
The list above is alphabetical because ranking agencies you have not hired is guesswork. These picks are different: each one is based on something the agency actually publishes, and the reason is stated so you can disagree with it.
Best if budget is the constraint
Small Business Web Designs
A one-page site at $299 + GST and packages from $599 is the lowest published entry point on this list, with a stated 15-business-day delivery. If cash is the binding constraint and you need to exist online this month, this is the published option.
Best for a published price before you call
Spark Interact
One of only three agencies here that publish an indicative project price — $3,500 to $5,500 — and the only one that also breaks down timeframes by site size. You can work out roughly where you land before booking a meeting.
Best for a fixed, predictable timeline
Pixel Fish
"Website live in 30 days" against a published four-stage process is the clearest commitment to a date on this list. If a launch deadline is the thing you are most worried about, start here.
Best for a larger custom build
Stone Digital
Openly the most expensive here, starting at five figures, and focused on custom WordPress rather than page builders. If you have the budget and want bespoke rather than assembled, they position for exactly that.
Best for multi-platform and long history
Jimmyweb
Established 2003, a team of roughly eighteen, and the widest platform range here — WordPress, Shopify, WooCommerce and Magento. Useful if you are not certain which platform you need yet.
Best for a fast, cheap small-business site
Creative Baguette
$1,900 to $3,800 for most small business sites, live in one to three weeks, from a studio that publishes its prices openly. You are working with one person, which is a feature or a risk depending on your project.
Best for everything in one package
Magicdust
Design, copywriting, logo, hosting and marketing bundled, offices in three states, running since 2006, with pricing published from $1,490. Convenient if you do not want to coordinate several suppliers.
Where we would put ourselves
MindSite
Western Sydney, accessibility-led builds, and sectors where being found and being usable matter — NDIS and disability providers, allied health, trades. If you want a CBD agency or a published price list, we are not the pick, and two of the options above are.
Cost
What web design actually costs in Sydney.
Every figure below is published by the agency itself. Five of the eight publish nothing at all, which tells you something about how this market works.
$299 – $599
Small Business Web Designs — one-page site at $299 + GST, packages from $599, additional pages $150 each
$700 – $3,800
Creative Baguette — landing pages from $700, most small business websites between $1,900 and $3,800
$1,490 – $6,990
Magicdust — published range for their website packages
$3,500 – $5,500
Spark Interact — stated as "an average indication" for Sydney web design services
$8,000 – $20,000+
Stone Digital — from $8,000 per the homepage; packages page lists $10,800, $15,000 and $20k+ tiers
Not published
Jimmyweb, Pixel Fish and MindSite publish no pricing. Expect a scoping conversation before a number
Ongoing costs
Care and support plans are quoted separately: Creative Baguette from $97/month, Stone Digital from $480/month
Two things worth knowing. First, the spread here is roughly seventy to one between the cheapest published entry point and the most expensive, and that gap is real — it buys different things, not the same thing at different prices. Second, a low build price with an expensive or restrictive support arrangement afterwards can cost more over three years than a higher build price with a fair one. Ask for the three-year number, not the launch number.
How to choose
Seven questions worth asking any of them.
Including us. These are the questions where the answers actually differ between agencies, and where a vague answer tells you more than a confident one.
01
Who owns the site if I leave? Some agencies build on proprietary platforms or licences you cannot take with you. Ask specifically whether you get the files, the hosting access and the domain, and what notice period applies.
02
Can my own team edit it without calling you? A site that needs a developer for every text change becomes an ongoing invoice. Ask to see the editing interface before you sign, not after.
03
What happens to my Google rankings if this is a rebuild? This is where redesigns go wrong. Ask how they handle URL mapping and redirects, and whether search performance is measured after launch. A blank look here is the answer.
04
Is SEO included, or quoted separately? Both answers are legitimate. What matters is knowing which one you are buying, because "SEO ready" and "we will get you ranking" are very different commitments at very different prices.
05
Who writes the content? The single most common reason website projects run months late is that the client was quietly expected to write everything. Settle this before the timeline is agreed, not during it.
06
What does support cost after launch, for three years? Ask for the total, including hosting, maintenance, and what an average small change costs. Compare that number, not the build price.
07
Will the site meet WCAG 2.1 AA? Increasingly expected rather than optional, and non-negotiable in disability, health and government-adjacent sectors. If accessibility is treated as an add-on rather than a default, factor in the retrofit.
Straight answers
Common questions, answered plainly.
Who are the best web design agencies in Sydney?
There is no single answer, because the right agency depends on budget, platform and how much support you need afterwards. On published information, the eight Sydney agencies worth comparing are Creative Baguette, Jimmyweb, Magicdust, MindSite, Pixel Fish, Small Business Web Designs, Spark Interact and Stone Digital. They range from $299 to over $20,000, which is why the shortlist matters more than the ranking.
How much does website design cost in Sydney?
Based on what Sydney agencies publish themselves, a one-page site starts around $299, most small business websites sit between roughly $1,500 and $7,000, and custom builds from established agencies start at $8,000 and run past $20,000. Many agencies publish no pricing at all and quote after scoping.
How do I choose the right web design agency?
Shortlist on budget and platform first, then separate them on the things that cost you later: who owns the site, whether you can edit it yourself, what support costs over three years, and whether rankings survive a rebuild. Ask every shortlisted agency the same seven questions and compare the answers rather than the portfolios.
How long does it take to build a website?
Published timeframes from Sydney agencies range from 3 to 5 days for a single-page site up to around 10 weeks for a large one. Four to eight weeks is the common band for a standard business website. The usual cause of delay is not design — it is waiting on content and approvals.
Should I hire an agency or a freelancer?
A freelancer or solo studio is usually cheaper and faster, and you deal directly with the person doing the work. An agency gives you cover when someone is sick, on holiday or leaves. The real question is what happens in year two, so ask either one what support looks like when the build is finished.
Is WordPress a good platform for a business website?
For most Australian small and medium businesses, yes — it is the platform the majority of the agencies on this list build on, you can hire anyone to work on it afterwards, and you are not locked into one supplier's proprietary system. Shopify is generally the better choice if your business is primarily selling products online.
Should SEO be included in website design?
The structural part should be: clean URLs, fast loading, proper headings, indexable pages and correct redirects on a rebuild. That is just building the site properly. Competing for specific commercial keywords is separate ongoing work and is normally quoted separately, so check which of the two an agency means when it says "SEO included".
What is the difference between web design and web development?
Design is how the site looks and how people move through it. Development is what makes it work — the build, the integrations, the forms and the code underneath. Most agencies on this list do both, but if your project needs bookings, portals, payments or a system integration, ask specifically about development capability rather than assuming it.
Want a second opinion on the quotes you have?
If you are comparing proposals from any of the agencies above, send them over. We will tell you what looks fair and what looks light — including when someone else's quote is the better deal. No charge, and no obligation to talk to us afterwards.
