Interiors by DMJ

Case study

A studio whose site had to look the part.

Interiors by DMJ is an Australian interior design studio working across residential, commercial, display homes and property presentation, from NSW through to projects overseas. When the work is judged on how a space looks, the website is the first thing a client judges it by.

What we did

The work behind the finished site.

Four service lines, one restrained presentation, and the work left to speak.

  • Web design
  • UX design
  • WordPress development
  • Content strategy
  • Technical SEO
  • Performance optimisation
01

Objective

Launch Interiors by DMJ online with a first presence that matches the standard of the interiors themselves. For a design studio the site is part of the portfolio, so restraint and finish mattered as much as structure.

02

Approach

We built the site on WordPress and gave each of the four service lines its own route through the site: residential, commercial, display homes and property presentation. The studio's approach is set out as four clear ideas rather than a wall of text, and the portfolio is given room to carry the argument on its own. Layouts were kept quiet so the photography leads, and the build was optimised so a page that is almost entirely large imagery still loads quickly.

03

Outcome

The studio now has a credible brand presence that sits at the level of the work it produces. Residential clients, commercial clients and the developers and builders who commission display home styling each have a path through the same site, and enquiries arrive from people who have already seen the standard of the projects.

Is your best work the hardest thing to look at?

Visual studios lose enquiries to slow galleries, tiny thumbnails and portfolios buried behind a menu. Send us your site and we will tell you how your strongest project actually looks to someone seeing it for the first time.
