Why it matters here
Web design for a peninsula full of people who judge websites for a living.
Pyrmont is unusual. In a few blocks between Darling Harbour and the Bays you have media, production, software, design studios, consultancies and a run of small firms that sell expertise rather than product. Very little of that work comes from a suburb search. Nearly all of it comes from someone being told a name and then looking.
Which sets a higher bar than most suburbs. Your visitor almost certainly has an opinion about websites, and a site that is slow, vague about what you actually do or three years behind your best work quietly costs you credibility before a conversation starts.
Our website design work here is built for a sceptical reader. Specific about capability, honest about who does the work, fast enough that nobody notices the loading, and structured so the best evidence is not buried three clicks in.
The second problem is that expertise businesses tend to describe themselves in language only they understand. Someone hunting for a partner does not search for your methodology. They search for the outcome, the platform or the problem, and pages built around those get found while the cleverly named service page does not.
There is also a maintenance reality here. If your own site is the portfolio, it goes stale faster than anything else you own. We hand the thing over so adding a new case study is a five minute job, because the version where it needs a developer is the version that never gets updated.
